I travelled with BA airways 2 weeks back from london to chennai,Due to some system failure almost 70% of the baggage were delayed which resulted in a huge queue in the lost baggage complaint helpdesk .
I was also there in that ,One of the BA representative asked me the following questions
1.How does your bag look like ? She showed some sample pictures ...(Heavy ,Small etc ..
2.What brand is your bag ?...
Honesty , I did not know the brand of my bag (Dont blame me ...men are from mars..) ,Later i realized it is a good ideato take the pic (simply in the mobile phone or in the digicam ) of the bags before we travel for a handy reference.Airlines too should do this ,just a digital click can honestly save a lot of time to avoid looking at the wrong holes ....

reminds me of my Visit to Reading when they delivered my bag after a week.
Good..but if u travel every week...how many photos u gonna save and delete...
for every week ,r u changing the bags ...?
